1st book in the three-book series for young adults

Divorce! How can two people who supposedly love one another call it quits after seventeen years of marriage? A knot the size of a football fills my gut. I stare at my parents in disbelief.

"Your father and I think it might be better if you stay with your Aunt Sarah and Uncle Frank while we settle things," Mom says.

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Frank live in Montana. What's worse, I only  met them once. I don't know much about Montana, but I'm sure they use outhouses, and I bet there aren't any malls  or movie theaters. Dad says nothing. He stands there with tears in his eyes, which leads me to believe the divorce is mom's idea.  I scream nasty accusations and run from the room. I slam the bedroom door so hard the Barbie dolls I've been collecting since I was three fall off the shelf above my bed.

I have extra copies of this book left over from a book signing. I'd love to send you one (free). All you have to do is e-mail me and give me your name and address. No strings attached. All you have to do is promise to pass the book along once you've read it.

3rd book in the three-book series for young adults

Yesterday earned the honor of the worst day of my veterinary career thus far which isn't saying much since I am a twenty-eight with only a year of service under my belt. Within the space of an hour, three horses with symptoms of colic came into the clinic. X-rays showed the cause of the horses' discomfort wasn't colic but stomach stones the size of grapefruits that had become lodged between the large and small intestines. Two of the horses were candidates for surgery. The third, a gelding in his late twenties, wasn't. Peritonitis had set in and we had no alternative but to put him to sleep. This is the part of veterinary medicine I hate--watching an owner say goodbye to a loving friend. When I left the clinic last night, the owner sat cross-legged on the floor of the stall with her dead horse's head in her lap--a sight that is hard to forget. To dull the pain, I remind myself of happier times when I save an animal who should have died. That was yesterday. Today I'm sitting in a beach chair, basking in the sun. Salt air caresses my body as I close my eyes and listen to the pounding surf. Seagulls squawk overhead. Every muscle in my body begins to relax and then the phone rings.

First Chapter Book for children 6-8 years of age

When one of the barnyard chickens asks Rascal, a German Shepherd puppy, to look after her nest of eggs, one of the eggs hatches. Because Rascal is the first thing the little chick sees when her eyes open, she assumes Rascal is her mother.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
